Yma Amsler

Yma Amsler
January 12, 1950 - March 25, 2014

O. T. about Yma's artwork:
«It is not the precision or the accuracy of the artist’s hand which enchants me.
It is not the excellence of the colours or the dimension of the work which fascinates me.
The paintings of the artist are a vast and abundant ocean.
They touch my heart and my spirit.
Here, I not only encounter the beauty of nature, but also spiritual ethic, cosmology and sacral anthropology, carried by mystical poetry, which the world could one day discover.
Brush stroke upon brush stroke, the painting unveils diverse and unique details: the beholder is confronted with a vision of pure and true beauty and the true gentleness of nature. A creative process takes place, transposing the intelligent power of nature, culminating in almost pure perfection.
Should there be perfection, it would appear in nature, and mankind would be one of the components.
The words, which are part of the paintings, not only encourage an encounter with peace and love between mankind, cultures and religions, but also between nature and mankind itself. At long last, I find true peace – a calmness full of serenity.»

A statement by the artist:
«Even when I was a young girl leafing through the sketchbook of my artist-grandfather, it dawned on me that, one day, I would become a painter too.»
